Welcome once again to another addition of Wednesday Wine Night, where we make excuses to drink in the middle of the week and you get a little bit jealous of us. That’s right we know and we don’t blame you, we’re a little bit jealous of ourselves all the other days of the week.
Lately we have been having really been picking some good wines and tonight is no exception. A little spoiler, not a single one was undrinkable, and no one spit either of them out. It’s fun to variety so we went with one Red named Sweet Red Reel and one white called Sweet Moscato. Yes both wines where sweet, just like us (you know you where thinking it too.)
Blue Fish – Sweet Red Reel
A Sweet Red, by Blue Fish, was our first sweet red at wine night and I don’t expect it to be our last. This one land in the nice respectable 11.5% ABV. which is a little lower than most reds we have tried, but not to shabby if your looking for a nice buzz. Bridget rated it a “Bomb diggity” saying, “I felt like I had to take two drinks of the wine just to kind of taste it. It’s not a bad taste but it’s not a pungent taste.” Dante and Thaddeus all found themselves on the same page on this one giving it a “I’d drink this all week.” Thaddeus said, “I expected it to be sweeter, but I’d give it a six(I’d drink this all week).” Gina being adamantly against red’s(the wine, we’re not getting racist here) gave this one a “If there’s nothing else.” Which is actually a high rating for Gina when it comes to reds. Chad’s opinion was, “There is zero aftertaste, it is in and out.” To which everyone at the table raised an eyebrow and smiled as she went on to rate it an “I’d get drunk on this.”

Sweet – Moscato
This sweet moscato, by Sweet was properly named as we got a little bit sweet on it, at 11% ABV. you might be surprised by the level of flavor. The problem we have found with white wines is they are either bitter or too sweet, this was a great combination of both. Bridget said, “I was just taken aback, a bit aghast if you will by the subtle sweetness and the favor of this wine. There was no really bitter aftertaste.” Bridget, Thaddeus and Gina rated it a “Bomb diggity”, the highest rating you can give a wine. Gina’s was a fully erected seven (that may be added in our rating system), and said, “Tastes like juice I love it. It’s like wine for babies.”(Wednesdaywine.com does not condone giving wine to babies.) Dante and Chad downgraded a bit giving the wine a, “I’d get drunk on this”.
