Wednesday Wine Night

Happy Halloween everyone from all of us at Wednesday Wine Night!

It’s our first holiday wine night and it special one indeed. We have a total four wines to review for you. Two of which you have probably seen on the wine list before you lushes. Those wines were only rated by a few of us so we brought them back so everyone could give them a try. Don’t feel slighted though because this isn’t just a rerun episode, we have new wines for you too. So set back with a glass of your own and your shopping list cause we’re about to tell you what to buy.

I Love California – Red Blend

I Love California, I’m not just making a random statement. That’s the company who made this week first wine. A red blend from you guessed it California. We found this wine at Fresh and Easy, for $4.99 This was a very neutral wine with Bridget, Gina, Chad, and Thaddeus all giving is a “If there’s nothing else.” Dante was above neutral on it, giving it a “I’d get drunk on this.”

Wink – Risque Red

Oh, way “Risque Red” please do behave. “Risque Red” is a “Sweet Red” by “Wink”. “Risque Red” I’d like to give you a Wink. This California Red went over well with us and at a $4.99 at Fresh and Easy, this is a great one to get. How’s it taste you say well Bridget, Dante, Gina, and Chad all gave it a “I’d drink this all week.” Thaddeus even liked it giving it a “I’d get drunk on this.”

Kokopelli – White Rose

Welcome back my Kokopelli, White Rose, you are the first one of the night to get a re-tasting. We originally had this White Rose when the wine list wasn’t a part of Wine Night but just Chad and Thaddeus making note of the wines they like and the wines they hate. This means that is White Roses and a number of other wines overall rating is was only base on Chad and Thaddeus, so we are fixing that so all the wines get a fair shake, this wont be the only repeat.

What to say about Kokopelli’s White Rose. It’s a White Merlot with a sweet flavor, that tastes more like a white than a red. It’s 12% ABV. and is from New Mexico which is more from our neck of the woods than most of the wines we have tried. Bridget hold true to her dislike of sweet thing (makes you wonder how she and Dante get along so well) gave it a “Tastes like shit.” Dante was on the opposite end of the spectrum giving it a “I’d drink this all week.” Gina and Thaddeus both really liked this one. I believe Gina may have subcutaneously known she would as she accidently completely filled her glass with this juice for adults before tasting it. She and Thaddeus both thought this one deserved an “The bomb diggity.” Chad was the I believe hit it on the overall rating head, she liked it but wasn’t in like with it. She gave it a “I’d get drunk on this.”

Sexy Wine Bomb – Sexy Wine Bomb

Guess what we are bring in another repeat wine, which is also our fourth wine of the night. I know we got a little excited with the holiday and all. Allow me to present to you Sexy Wine Bomb a red blend from California. Yes we do seem to be on a California kick. This 14.8% ABV. (yeah nice and high) was an oddity, as it was a Red that Gina liked. Our fair Gina gave it a “I’d drink this all week.” Wow Gina are we developing a taste for reds? Bridget gave it a, “If there’s nothing else.” Chad said, “I like the name I give the name a 10,” though she gave the wine a “I’d get drunk on this.” Dante and Thaddeus both felt it was more of a, “Like drinking bong water.”

Overall not a bad set of wines for Halloween. I hope you all had a good safe celebration and please feel free to suggest what you think we should drink next.
