Merry Christmas from Wednesday Wine Night

    2012 - 12.19

    Pouring a glass of wine.

Twas the week before Christmas and all through the house

Every bottle was empty, the wine soon would run out.

The reviewers where all drinking with care,

In hopes that more wine soon would be there.

Bridget and Dante sipped on their Reds,

While visions of Merlot’s danced in their heads.

And Chad in her ‘kerchief, and Thad in his cap,

Had just finished their wine and though, “oh crap.”

When out of the blue Hollie caused such a clatter,

Dante jumped to his feet to see what’s the matter.

Away to the door he flew like a flash,

Torn open the screen because he was smashed.

The front yard was dressed in a Christmas glow,

with lights and figures that put on a show.

When what to his wondering eyes should appear,

But wonderful Gina, holding wine up to here.

With the little old cork-screw, so lively and quick,

Thad pulled out a cork and gave it a lick.

More rapid than rivers, he filled up the cups,

And he whistled and shouted as he drank the wine up!

Try, Pinot! Try, Syrah! Try Merlot and Malbec!

Drink, Reisling! Drink, Moscato! Drink Whites and Reds!

From the top of the glass, to the bottom of the bottle,

tasted them, taste them, taste them all!

We spoke not word but when right to work,

trying each one with each of their quarks.

Rating them all the good and the odd,

taking each opinion with one little nod.

We smiled and laughed all through the night,

talking and joking we were such a sight.

You could hear us exclaimed, as we finished the white,

“Happy Christmas to all, and to all a happy wine night!”

Only six days until Christmas folks and our last wine night before the holiday. We have three wines for you to read about tonight two reds and one white. These all come to us from Califoria, I guess it’s our attempt to hold to the last of the warm weather. Though it was anything but warm tonight in pheonix. So realize we froze ourselves just for one.

Wine Royal – Two enter, none leave

    2012 - 12.13

Wine Improves with Age... I improve with Wine!

You may have noticed that some of the rating terms have changed on some parts of the website. These are some of the new terms we will be using; we will be updating the rest of the site and changing the older articles to avoid confusion. Though if you need to compare to the old terms they can still be found on the about page. So please feel free to tell us what you like, hate, or would like to see in the comments or via email contactus@wednesdaywine.com and I will do my best to make something worth following.

This week we will be reviewing one white and one red pitting them off in an epic battle. Two wines enter, only one wine leaves. Well that’s not really true. It’s more like two wines enter and two empty bottles leave.

Trying on a new Ensemble from a few old friends.

    2012 - 12.05

Wine drinkers make the best friends. What's your name again?

I’m adding a new feature to the review this week, so will be looking for ways to make the reviews more interesting to you the reader. So please feel free to tell us what you like, hate, or would like to see in the comments or via email contactus@wednesdaywine.com and I will do my best to make something worth following.

Hello again my lovely little lushs, we’re glad you’ve decided to join we again. What a wine night we have for you. Three little wines rated by all five of our lovely people. Yes that is correct tonight was the first night in almost two months that everyone of us where able to make it.

Diamonds Mischeif with Yellow Tail in the Big House

    2012 - 11.28

I vow to drink more wine so I can do something crafty with the corks.

As those of you who follow us on Facebook are already aware. We are now saving our corks for Dante. He has volunteered to do something crafty with them. I will update you as he makes progress.

In the post Turkey day blissfulness we were down two members both Chad and Gina. Sadly could not make it tonight though we do expect them back next week. Though tonight we will let you once again enjoy our naughty little threesome.

Though there where only three regulars in attendance, we did have a few guests to help us make sure none of the wonderful wines were wasted. Tonight we will be presenting you with 3 red wines and 1 white wine. I have noticed that our red wines have been out numbering our whites by quite a few lately. Do not worry my fans of whites we will be balancing it out soon.

    Happy Winesgiving!

    2012 - 11.27

Happy Thanksgiving to you, my lovely little winos, I mean connoisseurs of wines of all verities both in taste and quantity!

Welcome again to our quest to discover the best wine for the best price you can. Tonight was very special because tomorrow is thanksgiving, though Gina sadly was not able to make it we did have plenty of guests and tried a plethora of wines mostly Reds (this was not a shrewd attempt at tongue and cheek racism). With all our guests and the happy go lucky triviality I made a mistake, sorry it happens on the few of the wines I missed Bridget’s opinion. She was there I just failed to pick up on this fact until it was too late. So my apologies to you the reader I’ll make up for it with a few extra humorous quips.

Question: What did the grape say when it got stepped on?
Answer: Nothing – but it let out a little whine.

    Question: What’s a Scottsdale girl’s favorite wine?
Answer: ‘Daddy! can I go to Cabo!’

Hopefully I have won back your hearts and minds. I have? Good deal, then let get a move on. So many wines, so little time let’s get a move on.
