We were in a sweet mood

    2012 - 10.03

I don't always drink wine, but when I do I drink the whole bottle. Oh who am I kidding, I do always drink wine, and still always drink the whole bottle.

Welcome once again to another addition of Wednesday Wine Night, where we make excuses to drink in the middle of the week and you get a little bit jealous of us. That’s right we know and we don’t blame you, we’re a little bit jealous of ourselves all the other days of the week.

Lately we have been having really been picking some good wines and tonight is no exception. A little spoiler, not a single one was undrinkable, and no one spit either of them out. It’s fun to variety so we went with one Red named Sweet Red Reel and one white called Sweet Moscato. Yes both wines where sweet, just like us (you know you where thinking it too.)

    Getting down on the farm

    2012 - 09.19

I think I'll skip wine today even though it's #WineWednesday Said no one ever.

I really want to say that we were in very clever mood when we purchased this week’s wines, but we weren’t it was just an awesome happenstance that we ended up with a farm theme wines. This week we tried “Pink Truck”, a rose wine from California with a little something for both boys and girls; a truck for the boys and it pink for the girls or if you think I’m being sexist strike that and reverse it. Our second choice for the night was “Tarquino” from Argentina whose bottle looked like a cow, which yes is the reason we chose it. Everyone knows the look of the bottle and how much we like the name plays an integral part in our decision making process and we like cows.

    Sparkling Raspberry Cupcake

    2012 - 09.12

You can't buy happiness, but you can buy wine and that's pretty much the same thing.

In the last few months Wednesday Wine Night has become very popular in our social group. Everyone wants in; I mean it is justifiable midweek drinking who wouldn’t want in? So it’s not uncommon for someone who not a regular to join us, this was the first week in a while that it was just our standard cast and crew which made it nice and chill, sort of a Wine Night Classic.

This Week on Wednesday Wine Night, the group sampled a Sparkling Raspberry from Weibel Vineyards. Then they decided why stop now and tried a Chardonnay called Cupcake by Central Coast and that’s not all, they washed down the Cupcake with a malt beverage (it didn’t call itself wine on the bottle but it tasted enough like wine for us, so it counts) Verdi Spumante. Someone just had their box cherry popped.

    2012 - 09.05

I've started drinking boxed wine because I feel better about only taking one box to the recycling bin instead of 3 bottles.

Being as we have been so classy lately, using real wine glasses and rarely drinking from screw top bottles. We decided it was time to go a little bit down home and break into the box stuff. Yeah we can be that kinda classy too.

We had a first this week, Thaddeus had never had wine from a box before. So we popped his cherry with a fine Heritage Chardonnay by Almaden Vineyards. I’m sure he feels like a new woman now or at least wasn’t completely disappointed with his first time. Anyway along with our box of Heritage Chardonnay we also had a box of Burgundy California Table Wine by Peter Vella Vineyards and together the boxes said it would be around 13 normal bottles of wine, so you know they’ve gotta be good. Honestly we came into this week not expecting much. I mean what are you suppose to expect from a $12 box of wine?

A Petite Sirah and a Niederösterreich … yeah that

    2012 - 08.30

My day consisted of sampling wine to my heart's content, followed by drinking wine to my heart's content. What did you do today?

Bridget’s sister is moving out of town so she some of the rest of their family where invited to join us for wine night. So we got the opportunity to here about Bridget life growing up.

I am so glad this isn’t a video show, because then you would know how poor my pronunciations are. I look and the type on one of this week’s wines and all I could say is, “no, no not even going to try.” So the only way I could advise to request this at your local liquor store is open this site on your phone point to Niederösterreich and say, “I want this.” You could do that or you could just ask for Gruber Veltliner by Grooner but what fun is that. If you don’t trust names you can’t read then you could get our other wine of the week Petite Sirah Vintner Blend by Ravens Wood, I knew how to say all of those words.
