Wednesday Wine Night

This week we were short the presents of the lovely Miss. Gina, as she was traveling the world. Well not so much the world but the east coast of the good old US of A. The rest of us held to our weekly duties of consuming and reviewing this weeks wines and a special week it was usually we review 2 or sometimes 3 wines, not this week though. We ramped it up to a whopping 4 wines this week, 1 white and 3 reds.

Pacific Rim – Dry Riesling

Lets start with our white, Pacific Rim’s Dry Riesling I’m still not sure what makes a wine dry but this is one. Also fun fact this Riesling is 12.5% ABV not to shabby for a white wine. Bridget said, “It tastes like Woodridge.” She and Thaddeus both gave it a, “I’d get drunk on this”. Dante wasn’t quite as much a fan he felt it, “Smells like Keystone (light beer).” I don’t believe Dante thinks that Keystones the bee’s knees, because he and Chad both gave it a, “If there’s nothing else.” So this Dry Riesling probably won’t make our greatest hit’s article, but at least you know we wouldn’t turn down a glass.

Unruly – Unruly Red

Now for Unruly Red, by Unruly Wines; it’s a California Red and it turned out to be quite popular with us. Though I think what really made it Unruly was the 14% alcohol, that should make people happy. Bridget, Dante, and Chad all like it quite a bit. Not surprising, if it’s a Red worth drinking they are the ones who would know. They all gave it a, “I’d drink this all week.” The oddity of the group was Thaddeus who is usually very much against Red’s. Though this one he gave a, “I’d get drunk on this.” I guess Unruly is a good way to describe our little group.

Rioja – Vina Eguia

Vina Eguia, by Rioja Wine a nice little Red wine from La Rioja, Spain, that was 13.5% ABV. Bridget and Thaddeus would drink this, “If there’s nothing else.” Dante really likes this style of Red’s, he said, “I’d drink this all week.” Though this Red was not on Chad’s list of tops, she felt it was more, “Like drinking bong water.” So for you keeping score we are three for three at the moment for wines being an average above the neutral line.

Delicato Family Vineyards – 337

On to our final wine of the night 337 (catchy name), by Delicato Family Vineyards. This Cabernet Sauvignon is another Californian wine and another red that went over surprisingly well. Bridget and Thaddeus have been birds of a feather in their opinions tonight, they once again agreed on the rating and giving it a, “I’d drink this all week.” That’s right not just one but two red’s that Thaddeus liked tonight. Aw, I believe his taste buds are growing up. Though Dante didn’t like it as much and the rest of the group he did like it giving it a, “I’d get drunk on this.” Now to round tonight off Chad let’s have a big applause for Chad, I’m assuming you are all applauding now (when you are finished please continue). This wasn’t Chad’s first time trying 337, she enjoyed her last experience so much she wanted to make sure everyone else got to try it. A good decision seeing as it has done quite well. Of course knowing that you have probably guessed that she gave it a straight up, “The Bomb Diggty.”

Normally when we have reds they are more misses than hits, tonight though we had two excellent hits. The Unruly and now the 337 what a surprisingly good night we had. Though we missed Gina we survived and she will be back very soon (that means next week). So not to worry those of you who prefer Gina’s taste.
