As those of you who follow us on Facebook are already aware. We are now saving our corks for Dante. He has volunteered to do something crafty with them. I will update you as he makes progress.
In the post Turkey day blissfulness we were down two members both Chad and Gina. Sadly could not make it tonight though we do expect them back next week. Though tonight we will let you once again enjoy our naughty little threesome.
Though there where only three regulars in attendance, we did have a few guests to help us make sure none of the wonderful wines were wasted. Tonight we will be presenting you with 3 red wines and 1 white wine. I have noticed that our red wines have been out numbering our whites by quite a few lately. Do not worry my fans of whites we will be balancing it out soon.
Big House – Big House Red
Big House Red is luckily NOT made in a jail, sorry we won’t be rating any wines made in a toilet. Instead this is a Red wine from California made by Big House Wine Company. Yes my friends the California trend continues. With an ABV. 13% it’s in the average range for a wine of this type, though in the $6.99 price range you could do much worst. Hey that’s how I described my first date too. Bridget and Dante both felt this was a, “I’d get drunk on this.” Thaddeus was not quite as gentle with it rating it a, “If there’s nothing else.” If you would like to try it, we found it at Fresh and Easy, but if that won’t work for you they have a nice little locator tool you could use: http://underdogwinemerchants.com/store-locator.
Bridget – I’d get drunk on this
Dante – I’d get drunk on this
Thaddeus – If there’s nothing else
Yellow Tail – Moscato
Yellow Tail is a popular and well known wine brand found all over the place, we got ours at Bevmo, though it is also at Total Wine. Though they have many types I’m sure we will eventually try this week we went with the Moscato. If the kangaroo on the bottle doesn’t give it way, this wine comes from Australia. With only an ABV. of 7.5% I can honestly say I have had beers with a hire ABV, though they would have been more than $8.97. With all these things combined we have our decision on this Moscato. Bridget not being a fan of sweet wines felt it was a, “If there’s nothing else.” Dante and Thaddeus on the other hand drank it like juice and rated it, “The bomb diggity.”
Bridget – If there’s nothing else
Dante – I’d drink this all week
Thaddeus – I’d get drunk on this
Red Diamond – Merlot
Diamonds may be a girls best friend but tonight we all gave them a try, with a Merlot by Red Diamond. A 13.5% ABV Merlot we picked up at Bevmo for $5.99 or Total Wine for $7.47 either way not a bad price. Bridget and Thaddeus both rated it, “I’d get drunk on this.” Dante wasn’t as big on the Diamonds as everyone else was giving it a, “Like drinking bong water.” So it will not be our top wine of the night.
Bridget – I’d get drunk on this
Dante – Like drinking bong water
Thaddeus – I’d get drunk on this
Lost Angel – Mischief
Finally late in the night we decided to get into a bit of Mischief with a bottle of Mischief by Lost Angel. This 13.5% ABV. Red blend: 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Petite Sirah, 18% Sangiovese made in California. You can get it for between $7.50 to $12 a bottle. Bridget liked it rating it an, “I’d drink this all week.” Dante and Thaddeus felt differently giving it a, “Like drinking bong water.”
Bridget – I’d drink this all week
Dante – Like drinking bong water
Thaddeus – Like drinking bong water
So I don’t know if anyone noticed this while reading, but in every one of these wines two people rated it the same and the third rated it something different. Little freaky if you ask me, I believe we are all starting to think alike. God help us.
